APA Secretary General Meets First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Tajikistan

On the sidelines of the 16th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), the Secretary General of the APA, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Reza Majidi, met with H.E. Mr. Shermuhammad Shohiyon, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed ways and means to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation within the framework of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. The discussions underscored the importance of promoting intercultural and inter-civilizational dialogue, as well as enhancing coordination among APA member parliaments, in order to advance regional cooperation and achieve shared objectives.
The meeting also highlighted the APA’s continued commitment to fostering closer relations among its member states and to promoting parliamentary diplomacy across Asia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Mr. Shohiyon formally conveyed to Dr. Majidi, a letter from the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, on nomination of  the Tajikistan Parliament assuming the Chairmanship of the APA Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs.
